Why So Negative?

Hey All! :)

Alright so diving right in here...

We all have our negative moments correct?? Those days where things dont seem to be going our way and everything is just plain horrible right? Im with ya on that one! Man I definately have those days and everyone does.
But there is a point where its excess.....

I have a person who is now constantly texting me about how bad her life is and always being negative. Always having to pull me into things and she is always complaining to me. Nothing can ever be good or good enough. It has been driving me nuts! I cant figure out what to say anymore to her so sometimes I just dont respond. I mean this is constant and its like the world is out to get her by the way she is acting and telling me these things. Now dont get me wrong I do love helping people.. but man this is stretching it!

I understand that life gets hard and tough but petty things week after week? I am not trying to be mean at all I just really need to vent because this really sucks and im frusturated..

Life can be crazy, hectic and stressful, but in times like that (even though its tough) PRAISE GOD! Cry out to him! Be with him! While typing this I am reminded of a Saint that my youth minister Kym was telling me about and I am absolutely in awe of this man! This is Saint Maximillian Kolbe :)
Here is his story.......

"During the Second World War he provided shelter to refugees from Greater Poland, including 2,000 Jews whom he hid from Nazi persecution in his friary in Niepokalanów. He was also active as a radio amateur, with Polish call letters SP3RN, vilifying Nazi activities through his reports.
On 17 February 1941 he was arrested by the German Gestapo and imprisoned in the Pawiak prison, and on May 28 he was transferred to Auschwitz as prisoner #16670.
In July 1941 a man from Kolbe's barracks vanished, prompting SS-Hauptsturmführer Karl Fritzsch, the deputy camp commander, to pick 10 men from the same barracks to be starved to death in Block 13[9] (notorious for torture), in order to deter further escape attempts[10](the man who had disappeared was later found drowned in the camp latrine). One of the selected men, Franciszek Gajowniczek, cried out, lamenting his family, and Kolbe volunteered to take his place.
During the time in the cell he led the men in songs and prayer. After three weeks of dehydration and starvation, only Kolbe and three others were still alive. He encouraged others that they would soon be with Mary in heaven. Each time the guards checked on him he was standing or kneeling in the middle of the cell and looking calmly at those who entered, while the others lay moaning and complaining, on the ground around him. He was killed with an injection of carbolic acid. Some who were present at the injection say that he raised his left arm and calmly waited for the injection. But he did not die immediately. He gave it to God and he was able to stay alive for a longer period of time while he was praying. Then eventually he died.[11] His remains were cremated on the Assumption of Mary (August, 15)."

Kolbe's life was strongly influenced by a childhood vision of the Virgin Mary that he later described:
"That night, I asked the Mother of God what was to become of me. Then she came to me holding two crowns, one white, the other red. She asked me if I was willing to accept either of these crowns. The white one meant that I should persevere in purity, and the red that I should become a martyr. I said that I would accept them both."[7]

What a powerful man of prayer that through all of that torture, agony and pain he praised God and lead others toward him!

So im going to leave you with that.... please dont feel like I am being mean about the person who is always negative. Thats just whats going on right now, and I am taking it as an opportunity to teach through it.

Thanks! Comment and Vote! :) 2 days left!

God Bless,
Ashley

I don't know much about the saints, entirely because I am non denominational, and we really don't see saints the way that the Catholic religion does. However, the one thing I can tell you is that you NEED to tell this friend that she has to stop sending so much negativity your way. Some people are just downers, and unfortunately they will drag you down with them if you allow it. Tell her that you enjoy being her friend, but that her constant negativity is starting to drag you down and you want her to start seeking out the positive in these situations.

Show the love of God to her, but don't allow her to drag you down through the process.

Love you, sweetie ...

maybe i know this person... maybe i don't... but i would say, for any friends who bring you negativity whether by thoughts, words or actions, why not share the Truth with them? I'm super sure you can find many uplifting verses in the Word that would shower people with a stronger positive message. you dont even have to memorize the verse necessarily, but you can remember what verse it is and text her that for a response. leave it at that, especially if i know that particular friend ;)
